About us

The Naperville German Language School is a non - profit school which teaches students from pre-Kindergarten through adult ages. We maintain a total of 10 different ability levels, to accommodate all students. Our classes are enriched by conversation, German culture and extra curricular activities, such as our Christmas party, and the celebration of various German holidays and customs.
We believe in learning German and having fun at the same time, which keeps the children interested. A total of 6 professionally qualified teachers instruct our classes.
As proud members of GLSC (German Language School Conference) and PASCH (worldwide network of schools, an initiative designed to awaken interest in young people in modern Germany and the German language) we are committed to providing a positive learning experience, and effective and quality teaching of the German language and culture.

Willkommen zur Deutschen Schule in Naperville!
(2017-2018)

Welcome to our not for profit German Language School!
I am excited to be back at the same location, Congregation Beth Shalom, on 772 5th Ave, Naperville, just downtown, South of Ogden Avenue and off Mill Street (Map). We use 8 classrooms but we will be looking for a larger place if the classes keep on growing. If you know a good, suitable place, preferably in the Naperville downtown area, please let me know.
We are an active school, that not only teaches the German language, but also German culture. In November we will be celebrating St. Martin's day, also called Lantern day, where the children make their own lanterns and walk through the downtown Naperville area.
In December we celebrate Christmas at the Naper Settlement. The German Christkindl Markt is being held at the same time. After our performance you can enjoy the market.
February is the month to celebrate Karneval or Fasching. A fun evening to play German games and dress up.
May is Graduation month. We have a party at my house with grilling and a pot luck dinner after the students perform skits or songs.
Please make sure to check our schedule and add the extra activities to your calendar.
Some of the more advanced students will take German tests. One of these tests is accredited by the German government and is accepted worldwide. Our school usually has many students who take these tests successfully. The other test is given by All American German Teachers, it is called the AATG test.
The first Friday of every month is a short class day, due to an earlier service at the Synagogue. Everybody has to be out of the classrooms and hallway by 6:30 pm. Thank you for your understanding.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to come to me.
I wish all students a successful school year!
