GLSN EVENTS
Learning a language goes beyond speaking and writing. Experiencing the culture of the country and the people makes a true impact. Our events bring together friends of the German culture and allow us to learn with fun and experience.

Fridays 4:00pm-7:30pm at GLSN
Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea on us in our waiting area (old St. Irene church building) while you are waiting for your student. Connect with other parents or simply use the time to work.
"Stammtisch" (Monthly get-together)
Last Thursday of each month from 6pm at Biergarten
"Stammtisch" is a German word for a 'regular get-together'. If you are interested in meeting other German speaking people in our community you are welcome to join the Stammtisch organized by our director Anne Becker. Locations will vary.
Annual traditions
November: On the first Friday in November, we celebrate St. Martin's Day, also called Lantern Day. The younger students will make lanterns in school, followed by a lantern parade in downtown Naperville.
December: Usually on the second Saturday in December we have our traditional Christmas Party with German Christmas songs and holiday-themed performances by the students. Traditional holiday treats are served and Santa might swing by!
February: On the first Friday in February, we celebrate Carnival (also known as "Fasching" in Germany), a German tradition that goes back to the Middle Ages. This is a fun-loving event for kids in costumes, with music and snacks.
